TOAF Press Release
May 7 - 10, 2026
Opening Night, May 7, 6pm - 10pm
Dallas Market Hall 2200 N. Stemmons Fwy, Dallas, TX 75207
Daria Shugaieva is proud to announce their participation in The Other Art Fair Dallas, the leading art fair for independent artists, for its upcoming 9th edition.
The art world historically has a reputation for being intimidating and exclusive. The Other Art Fair challenges convention, breaks rules with the belief art is for everyone. This principle lies at the core of The Other Art Fair Dallas which takes place from May 7-10 at Dallas Market Hall in Dallas, TX.
As Daria Shugaieva preparesfor their participation in The Other Art Fair Dallas, they are thrilled to join a diverse group of emerging and established artists to showcase their latest collection.
Reflecting on their creative journey, Daria Shugaieva shares, ”My practice explores moments of transformation that emerge through vulnerability rather than certainty. I am drawn to the fragile stages of becoming—those quiet intervals when the old self has already fractured, yet the new one has not fully formed. These moments are often overlooked, but they are where true change begins.”
Recurring symbols such as the egg, cracked surfaces, fragmented faces, birds, and subtle signs appear throughout my work as metaphors for protection, exposure, intuition, and inner movement. The egg, in particular, functions as both shelter and limitation: a space that once nurtured life, yet must eventually break to allow growth.
The Other Art Fair continues its mission to reframe art, showcasing the creations of independent artists, striving to dismantle the hurdles to artistic participation, and as the artist is on-site to talk about their work, they provide encounters that welcomes individuals from all walks of life, regardless of their familiarity with art history. Whether you're a seasoned collector or a newcomer to the art world, this fair promises something for everyone, making it a must-attend event for anyone passionate about creativity, expression, and innovation. Join us from May 7-10 at Dallas Market and immerse yourself in a celebration of art that truly belongs to everyone.

About
Artist Biography
Daria Shugaieva is a contemporary Ukrainian-American artist whose work explores emotional depth through feminine symbolism, surrealist narratives, and refined painterly technique. Her practice centers on themes of vulnerability, transformation, and the quiet strength required to begin again.
Drawing from her personal experience of rebuilding life in the United States after the war in Ukraine, Shugaieva developed a distinctive visual language rooted in symbolism. The egg appears as a recurring motif—an ancient representation of fragility, potential, and rebirth—alongside other elements that reflect inner psychological states.
Working in oil and acrylic, she combines ethereal color fields with intricate detail, creating intimate, dreamlike compositions that invite reflection and emotional connection.
At the core of her current practice is the development of the Visual Anchor Method™️—a structured artistic approach in which each work is paired with a deliberate word placed on the edge of the canvas. These “anchors” function as subtle psychological cues, designed to integrate into the viewer’s daily environment and support mental clarity, focus, and emotional grounding.
Daria’s work has been exhibited across the United States, including during Miami Art Week at Spectrum. She is the subject of a curated solo exhibition at MIFA (Miami International Fine Arts) and will be presenting her work at The Other Art Fair Dallas.
Through her evolving body of work, Shugaieva continues to bridge fine art with personal meaning—creating pieces that are not only seen, but lived with.
